Chris

Chris was educated at King Edwards VIII School. He then went on to study at Wits Tech School of Graphic Design, graduating with the skills and understanding of visual and marketing communications. He then pursued further over the years qualifications in Marketing, Advertising and Design through Damelin, Vega & Wits. His first steps of experience in the real world were at Clerk & McCormack. Soon after he was appointed as a designer at Grey Phillips Bunton Mundell Advertising, and with the help of a few local awards at the time stepped up to become an Art Director. Chris then joined Grey Medical advertising as Art Director.

As an Art Director at IC Medical Advertising his knowledge in the growing computer-aided design field became an integral part of his resources. He also further expanded his experience and skill in the specialized field of Medical Advertising, as well as account handling and client liaising. He was then appointed to head up a subsidiary company of the mother company, which helped pave the way for some international awards - 2 in London for package and campaign design and 1 in New York, respectively.

Dr. David

Dr. David qualified as a medical doctor after completing a BSc Honours degree in zoology. After his internship and some time in clinical practice, he joined Glaxo Wellcome where he ran the Medical Training Department, and then Bristol Myers Squibb as the Medical Marketing Manager. While in the pharmaceutical industry he was involved in training representatives and medical staff, continuing medical education for doctors and pharmacists, overseeing clinical trials of investigational drugs and product marketing.

Since 1999 he has specialised in medical writing, medical marketing and training for the pharmaceutical industry.

David is also the medical editor for MedSpec Publishing, the South African publishers of the New England Journal of Medicine, British Journal of Anaesthesia, Journal of Clinical Oncology, The Journal of Pain SA, Eyecare Africa, The Journal of Integrative Medicine SA and various other medical publications.

David runs workshops on the interpretation of published medical literature and its ethical use in pharmaceutical marketing. He gives frequent presentations and lectures to the pharmaceutical industry, Pharmacists and Doctors and is often a guest speaker at conferences, particularly with regard to interpreting and using clinical studies.
